“Living Gratefully”

October 15, 2018

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.

– Psalm 107:1

Dear Members and Friends,

The Psalmist calls us to give thanks for God’s goodness, because God’s goodness and love will rest with us forever.  Since God’s love endures forever, our thanksgiving, our gratitude, for that love, should never fade as well.  In order to express gratitude continually for God’s enduring love, gratitude should become not just an occasional expression, but a continuous lifestyle.  Our lives, our choices, our actions, our sharing and our giving should reflect our gratitude to God.

“Living Gratefully” will be a theme you hear frequently over the next few weeks at church.  PCW has adopted this as the theme of our 2018 Stewardship Drive.  We strongly believe that anytime we share our talents, anytime we volunteer our time, anytime we give of our treasure, we strive to do so with gratitude in our hearts.  We express gratitude to God because God has blessed us with varying degrees of special talents, extra time, and tangible treasures.

This year, PCW is particularly grateful that this will be the first year in many years that we have DEBT FREE at the time of our stewardship drive!  Thanks be to God and thanks to all of you who made our financial freedom possible!

If you are a member or friend of PCW you will receive a letter and pledge card in the mail for our annual operating budget for 2019.  Please prayerfully consider your level of dedication, boldly and confidently fill out the card and bring it with you to worship on November 11.  If you cannot be in worship that Sunday, please submit your pledge card to the office prior to the 11th.

We are grateful for gifts of all sizes. So, if you can only give a small amount, we are very appreciative of your level of generosity.  We hope that you agree that PCW has a bright future of spiritual and numerical growth.  With zero debt, an increased staff, new mission initiatives and a goal to reach younger generations, PCW stands at the precipice of a new chapter.  Your generosity can help ensure that future.

Please join us with your time, your talent and your treasure.

Thank you in advance for your generosity in 2019!

In Christ,

Bob Eade, Christy Eckert, Tom Ellenberger, Kay Hucke, Karen Ladd, Becky Vogt, Bruce Wiese and Rev. Patrick Gruber
